Two Centuries of Lewis and Clark: Reflections on the Voyage of Discovery

This book explores the changes in history and landscape, documenting over 200 years of development in the Pacific Northwest from the exploration of Lewis and Clark’s trek, one century later, and finally in today’s century. The authors will explore the motivations of the original expedition and explore the effects and watershed events that the experience and findings of this effort brought about, namely the way economic development and natural resource exploitation came about as part of the goals of the Corps of Discovery. In a brief 200 years, the landscape has changed dramatically and here readers will be able to glean into the process and progression that started with a journey commissioned by president Thomas Jefferson.
