“I’ve seen You before, years and years ago, and it seemed like a simple formula with consistently varied results. … This time around it holds my attention and even establishes a little mystery and reflection, while incidentally also being entirely letters about or at least referring to metal. Yeah. Metal. This other zine, Westside Angst is subtitled ‘Valuable Lessons I learnt from Motorhead Written by an Actual Doctor.’ I don’t give a fuck about Motorhead, and you don’t have to either to immensely enjoy this shit. He lists a Motorhead song, tells you what it is about, and then tells you what he gets from it. And there are corresponding bitchin’ album art renditions to further educate me. Basically, it’s all I could ever want in a zine, totally hilarious and overly intellectual. He even talks about Judith Butler. Hello, are you married? I couldn’t stop reading it out loud, and every song that was expounded could then easily greet my ears, thanks to the interweb. I love life!
