Municipal Threat: Exploitation

In this self-consciously nerdy collection of comics, film reviews, and assorted pulp, editor Brad Dwyer has sought to recreate the charm of the penny comics rack at the 7/11, or the horror section at the Blockbuster. This homage to a bygone era celebrates the 'lowbrow' content that charmed so many teenagers coming of age in the time before the internet. With contributions from a number of comic book artists and film enthusiasts, Dwyer's Municipal Threat is a nostalgic treat, exploiting the romance of off-white newspaper and weekly comic anthology releases that charmed so many when they were growing up.
