The Queer & Transgender Resilience Workbook: Skills for Navigating Sexual Orientation & Gender Expression
by Diane Ehrensaft Author and Anneliese A. Singh Author
So you're somewhere between slightly or allll the way off the cis-het end of the spectrum. Welcome, family. If you're anything like us, you've got some issues to work out around this stuff: social expectations, religious baggage, family shit, work shit, walking down the street shit, a shifting friendscape, bathrooms, media garbage, politics, microaggressions, intersectionality or lack thereof, your own mental health, your own ability for self-compassion, etc etc etc. This workbook is pretty good for all that stuff. It's all worksheets, with sections like "You are more than your gender and sexual orientation," "standing up for yourself," and "affirming and enjoying your body." The tone is kind, the orientation is inclusive, and as you work through the exercises in identifying both the negative messages and positive aspects and aspirations that shape your identity and life, you'll come out with vital inner tools and a strong sense of being part of a community. Good stuff.
