Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark Movie Tie-In Edition

by Alvin Schwartz Author and Stephen Gammell Illustrator

A particularly spooky collection of stories for readers of all ages, and the inspiration for the 2019 film of the same name. Author and folklorist Alvin Schwartz delights and terrifies with this volume, including tales featuring all kinds of supernatural and horror elements. Artwork by Stephen Gammell from the original edition augments the scare factor, and new artwork from the film is also included. A great read for those summer nights around the campfire, after the sun has set.

I helped edited this compilation, although I didn't get any credit in the actual book, (Larry Crane will confirm this). But besides all that I'm glad that Microcosm is now carrying it. Tape Op is based on the DIY ethic that so enthralls Microcosm, it's a good match and a great compilation. Including many interviews never published in Tape Op the magazine...I could have called it a 'zine, because that's how it started, but it has moved far beyond a 'zine due to Larry's dedication that it has become a magazine and I am happy to have been a part of that. Check out Tape Op if you haven't yet.
