Unique Eats and Eateries of Portland, Oregon

by Adam Sawyer Author

About 20 years back, when the whole "Farm to Table" trend was starting, chefs from all over the world were drawn to Oregon's Willamette Valley. Portland, being both creative and affordable, became a hotspot for culinary talent. Unique Eats & Eateries: Portland covers it all, including food-carts, fine dining, and everything in between.

when i started to read this with my boyfriend who has also spent a week in the psych ward, we had to stop so he could tell me about one of his experiences and cry. it was good healing. he has yet to finish the 'zine but i did on my own. my favorite page is for family and friends--i felt less helpless and more sure i was doing the right things after reading Megans suggestions.

This was and remains one of my favorite zines of all time -- so raw and intimate, so personal, and yet it speaks to so many of us. Megan's writing on the choice between death and life is truly poignant, and though I read this years ago, some of the phrases still run through my mind on occasion.

This was one of the first zines I read, and I was blown away. It was such a highly personal and intimate insight to Megan's experience of depression and suicidal ruminations. Having experienced depression, it was reassuring to realise my thoughts hadn't been entirely unique.
