Invoking the Scribes of Ancient Egypt: The Initiatory Path of Spiritual Journaling.
by Normandi Ellis Author, Gloria Taylor-Brown Author and Nicki Scully Foreword
In this book, the reader will encounter the storytelling tools and mindsets of the scribes of Ancient Egypt — a testament to the transformative power of writing holds. The authors share how writing a spiritual biography has allowed them to reconnect with creativity and internal divinity. The practice of these ancient story weavers was known as “heka”, a practice that involved employing the proper words, in the proper sequence and intonation, with proper intent. In a way, it relates to the grecian term of rhetoric. But from beyond being persuasive, this art was meant to evoke a certain spirituality and energy in the storyteller as well as their audience. This book shares meditations and creative writing exercises to strengthen this concept in the reader, as well as sharing the authors’ experiences of self-discovery through sacred sites of ancient Egypt.
