Becoming a Writer

Originally published in 1934, this timeless book offers excellent advice to the aspiring writer. Author Dorothea Brande taught creative writing in the 1920s, and the stories she tells from her time in the classroom can inspire and spur new writers to create something truly original. Despite the fact that this book is now almost 100 years old and was written before much of the science about how the creative process works was undertaken, Brande's suggestions ring true and offer an unconventional way of understanding the writing process.
