We Have a Dream: Meet 30 Young Indigenous People and People of Color Protecting the Planet
by Mya-Rose Craig Author and Sabrena Khadija Author
This book holds 30 profiles of young environmental activists, sharing their dreams and the diversity of the issues that they contend with. Mya-Rose Craig and Sebrina Khadija, the respective author and illustrator of this book, compiled this book to address a pertinent issue in environmental movements: the lack of indigenous and people of color represented within climate activism.
Despite the reality that indigenous and POC have been at the forefront of movements, that their communities are disproportionately affected by the effects of climate change, media has lacked in bringing awareness to the activism of these people on the frontlines. Featuring 64 pages with color illustrations throughout, Craig and Khadija share the faces of youth activists that deserve more of our awareness.
