Sex and Race, Volume 2
This is a gathering of sociological projects that explore surveys of Black demographic and history—analysis of past research that was looking to find information on the very concept of race through the lives and experiences of Black folks, first published 1940s, this 2012 reissue doesn’t change the outdated information as to provide a touchstone and help the reader develop and understanding of what people wondered, what they looked into, what they found, and what they were able to surmise with the information available at the time. The work debunked the term “race” as we understood it and changed the way we study and understand this concept. It’s pretty punk, especially if you consider that the researcher had no formal training and managed to create such an impact.
