Food-Related Stories (Pocket Change Collective)
by Gaby Melian Author and Ashley Lukashevsky Illustrator
Food is one of the few non-negotiable essentials in life: we all need to eat. This book talks about the lived experience of Gaby Melian: from growing up in Argentina, being a street vendor in Jersey, to being Bon Appetit' test kitchen's manager. Many of her life experiences are interwoven with food and here she shared how food has been the theme that links her life events together. From survival to connection, food has been Gaby's way of making her way in the world. This book is for everyone but as part of Penguin Workshop Pocket Change Collective Series, it has been designed to be accessible to readers 12 and up.
