The Second in the World to Invent Telephone: Elisha Gray
Sometimes people who do things second do it better! This is a kid’s book that shares the story of Elisha Gray, an inventor that created the second version of the telephone. Readers will get a look at his life and struggles, his dedication and genius. The book shares some of the conspiracy that Alexander Graham Bell might have actually stolen his idea! Despite not having the original patent for the telephone, he still received 70 patents of his own (not just for the phone but for electronic music makers and fax machines!). Even his version of the telephone provided many improvements to the telephone, the telecommunications network, and user experiences. Along with great illustrations and activities, the text in this book is recommended for kids approximately ages 6 to 10.
