In what the author himself describes so perfectly as "equal parts hearts and smarts," Dan Murphy's The Juniper reads something like a letter from a dear friend. He introduces this issue with an inspiring short essay on the importance of cooperation and the vastness of human potential. With his usual eloquence, Dan goes on to discuss his recent attempt at guerrilla gardening, the logistics of portable stove construction, and his delicious discovery of edamame hummus.
