Hildegard of Bingen’s Book of Divine Works: With Letters and Songs

Hildegard of Bingen, 12th century mystic, is an often seen as a feminist archetype in a time when there was no formal movement. A woman of many talents — poet, painter, musician and scientists, playwright healer, critical prophet, she wrote this work between 1170 and 1173 -- the last in the Scivias Trilogy. This book contains all the aforementioned traits of hers and more — touching on a universe that combines the scientific with the artistic and the mystic. This edition also contains 51 letters, Bingen’s correspondences with significant figures of the time, along with translations of twelve of her songs.
