Lies My Teacher Told Me: A Graphic Adaptation

by James Loewen Author and Nate Powell Illustrator

A graphic adaptation of the 90's book by the same name, this version is adapted and illustrated by Nate Powell, the artist for John Lewis's March trilogy on the Civil Rights Movement. The original, having sold over 2 million copies, has been praised by historians such as Howard Zinn for demystifying the lies of history often spread by the school system in the US and furthermore by society. As such, this book is a great option for those who have yet to experience the original prose version and experience its potential impact -- as well as those who have already read the book or are fans of the artist, the first graphic artist ever to be given the National Book Award. For anyone who went through the public school system in the US, it may come as a surprise the lies that one has gone on thinking are historical fact.
