The Great War
by Adam Hochschild Author and Joe Sacco Author
The Great War is a beautifully crafted, 24-foot-long panorama depicting the events of the day on July 1, 1916, the Battle of the Somme.
From the behind the trenches to the thousands of retreating wounded soldiers and the dead being buried in mass graves, this accordian style comic shows us the War to End all Wars as we've never seen it before.
The author's note comes as a separate booklet and expands upon the events that took place, using a thumbnailed image of the plates as a timeline to extrapolate from. Simply stunning work.
