The Alice B. Toklas Cook Book
by Alice B. Toklas Author, M.F.K. Fisher Foreword and Ruth Reichl Author
This cookbook chronicles Alice B. Toklas's time with iconic figures like Hemingway, the Fitzgerald, and others through recipes. The recipes in there might be a bit specialized, I’d say daunting for beginner but potentially very rewarding. Some of the ingredients might take some grocery hunting and some might be dispensed elsewhere. In other words, there’s a cannabis fudge in there that sounds pretty sweet, mindful of this alongside a recipe fit to a Picasso diet. The book contains these originals and stands as a cool historical cookbook.
A fun history fact of this book is that it came about when the author was asked and subsequently refused an offer to write their memoir. A funny history fact of this book is that it came about when the author was asked and subsequently refused an offer to write their memoir.
