Latin American Independence (1810-1824)

This is #9 in J. Gerlach's incredible Simple History series. As J. points out in the introduction, "the fight for Latin American independence was not a quick or united revolt. It was many revolutions, spread out and uncoordinated, succeeding in different ways, at different times, for different reasons." J. does a great job at covering all these revolutions in a succinct way without glossing over the histories of colonization and oppression.
