Armchair Demonology: The Magical Benefits of Cultivating Bad Habits

This zine explores the historic use of stimulants that have appealed to many different kinds of people, but especially intellectuals and artists that have used them to reach the point where they can make art where language is limited to describe their experience. The author names what is called the “Poison Path” and why the appeal of it exists to psychonauts. It outlines some of the stronger stimulants that are used as well as the magical experience that can be found in milder stimulants. The author describes his experience with these substances but namely two: pipe tobacco and black tea. These aren’t the fabled stimulants people often think of, but the author explains the creative, mental, and philosophical benefits that these have brought him and his work.
