The phrase dog-eat-dog might not hold as much validity as it already might lack. This book is an exploration of collaboration within the animal kingdom. The book talks about how narratives on the animal world are ones of competition and while that does exists, the author's point is to show how much more goes on than ruthless competition. The author, animal biologist and director of an animal behavior lab, brings in anecdotes of the social connectedness of within different species of animals - not just within species but among species.
