Jirou's Journey To Friendship

This latest book from the Young Authors Program tells the story of Jirou, a shy and anxious kid who has had one terrible start to his school day. He drops his books everywhere outside the bus stop as his classmates walk past him, hardly noticing him. He's positively miserable, until his teacher prompts the class to begin a group project. Though Jirou is worried that the project won't go well, and feels anxious about working with others, his classmates help him feel supported and seen, and their project is a huge success.
