What's Worrying You?

by Molly Potter Author and Sarah Jennings Illustrator

What's Worrying You? helps children understand their worries and teaches them how to deal with them in a healthy way. The book uses lively art to guide children through different scenarios, such as quarrelling with a friend, getting in trouble, or being frustrated that no one ever listens to them. These scenarios are followed by suggestions on how to alleviate anxiety, such as talking to a trusted adult, taking deep breaths, or doing something to feel happy. It also provides guidance on developing emotional literacy, or the ability to understand and manage one's own emotions. This includes understanding the difference between worry and fear, learning how to identify triggers for worry, and developing coping mechanisms for dealing with difficult emotions.
