$25 Pack: Zines That Might Get You Arrested in Texas

In 2025, 22 people were arrested following a demonstration at an ICE detention facility in Texas. Of particular concern for the prosecution were the zines and printing press owned by two of the defendants, because apparently that and belonging to an Emma Goldman book club is enough to get you branded as a terrorist in Texas.

Zines are powerful tools for spreading information, knowledge, and ideas across communities... which apparently scares this administration to death.

We pulled together a bundle of one of our zines included in the Prairieland evidence files, along with a few others we know the FBI probably would hate too.

Plus, each purchase of this bundle will contribute at least $10 to our books to prisoners program!

  • Learning Good Consent was included in the Prairieland evidence as part of the "proof" of "terrorist nature" of the defendants. Because of course this administration would find learning about consent and ethical relationships threatening.
  • Know Your Rights helps you protect yourself and your community, understand what to say when cops confront you (spoiler: nothing), what is and isn't covered by the first amendment, and more.
  • Mutual Aid is a reminder that you can make an impact in your community, no matter how small the gesture of generosity.
  • How Not to Get Arrested at a Demonstration is a zine full of illustrations, checklists, and thoroughly researched survival tips for the beginner demonstrator and the seasoned activist.
  • And last but not least, Fugitive Gardens, a lovely guide to growing your own herbs and vegetables no matter how small your space. We're including it as an ode to the gardening zines that apparently will get you arrested in Texas.
