In Wisconsin, Latinx workers have mobilized with the group Voces de la Frontera in order to defeat efforts to criminalize immigrants by launching statewide general strikes. By stepping away from work, school, and their roles in the community, Latinx folks demonstrate their vital importance to the smooth functioning of our society and create pressure to prevent state legislators from passing restrictive laws and legalize racial profiling.
