Comestible: Issue 3: Autumn 2016
by Anna Brones Author
The fall issue of the beautiful food zine Comestible is packed with good stuff. Articles and essays range from sheep's milk to organ meats to saving heirloom seeds to economic food justice. Recipes include one for a sourdough starter to to Malaysian pumpkin curry to "spiced apple halvah breakfast cake" (umm yummy!) to pickles. And as this came out right before the election there's a bit about election cake, and a recipe for that too. These zines are really lovingly and thoughtfully put together, with nice layout, contributors who tend to be both experts and good writers, and great illustrations, especially the papercut art on the covers done by the publisher. The result is a work of art and an homage to conscious eating.
