She's also the illustrator-in-residence for the band The Decemberists. She lives with their frontman and her partner and coauthor, Colin Meloy, on a farm in Oregon, along with two sons, two llamas, two goats, ten chickens, a cat, some barn owls, a sheep, and SO many tree frogs.
